Airlay Technology

Airlay technology produces a randomly orientated fibrous web

Airlaid short fibers of 1 to 15 mm and adhesive particles are dispersed in air by various means. A common method employs rotating blades that produce a “cloud” of fibers within the airlay chamber. The fibers are then transported through the air toward a permeable conveyor belt under which suction is applied. This helps to gather the fibers onto the conveyor surface, where the web is formed.
